As for whoever said that the boost was powered by rings.
It doesn't look like the boost is not powered by rings, it's powered by enemies, stop at 0:43-0:44.
3 blue energy trails go towards Sonic, I suppose that's Boost energy, If I'm right then it uses the same implementation as Colors.

Classic Sonic looks even better in-game, he looks almost identical to the original art work!

Sonic Generations™
Sonic's universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates [b]‘time holes’[b] which pull him and his friends back through time. As a result, he encounters some surprises from his past history including Classic Sonic, Sonic as he was in 1991.
Silly Sega, Classic Sonic is in an alternate universe... AS MODERN AND CLASSIC CANNOT LOGICALLY CO-EXIST.

If the game's plot involves Time Stones in any way, I will be ecstatic to a point where it will take me forever to recover from excitement.
Has it crossed anyone's mind yet that they might try using levels from the handheld titles? Redesigned levels from the Sonic Rush and Sonic Rivals series would cover the modern-day portion of the Sonic spectrum quite well. And for the middle portion they could use a level or two from the Advance series.

So, they implemented homing attack into start of a rail... that's somewhat welcome, as long as it doesn't freak out like Sonic 06's Rail homing attacking did.

2 Sonics, 1 Up? I like it.
I like how the classic jump sound is a mix between Genesis and CD's jump sound.

I'm waiting for Sega to announce that it is coming to Wii, but it'll be some toned-down, half-assed version to haul in the casuals.
I'm STILL waiting for them to announce it for PC.
Also, I suppose this is running on the Hedgehog Engine? I assume that they've managed to optimized it in 3 years.
Speaking about the Hedgehog Engine, I know SEGA was licensing it to developers, my question is, did anyone EVER license it?
PC? That's about as likely as a Linux port.
But a Wii port is possible. That's where all the moolah is anyway.
See? That's two lines! Don't suspend me again!

Even as a die-hard Nintendo fan, if this turns out as good as it looks, I will buy a 360 or PS3 for it, even if the Wii version still is relatively good. I am that excited about this.

SEGA is so fucking doing it right. It's like someone in Sonic Team saw that 3D MHZ video a while back and was like "fuck, we could do that" and then did.
The footage I've seen so far makes it look like the modern and classic levels aren't actually different stages, they're just different camera angles and physics. If that's the case, oh god. I don't even know what to say. So fucking good. So, so, so good. They should serious toss Sonic 4 down a memory hole and sue Dimps for defamation after this.

A man can dream now, can't he?
Also, honestly I don't have a damn problem with Unleashed-like rollercoaster levels, the sense of speed they had was exhilarating, and not only that but they are adding actual platforming to C. Sonic's sections.
I enjoyed Sonic Unleashed's daytime stages a lot, and I enjoyed the classic's platforming a lot, unless SEGA does a Sonic 06-like fuck up, there's no way I'm not enjoying this.

As good as the strides they've made so far seem to have been, there are still a few things I'd like to see:
* Modern levels in 2D for Classic Sonic (Sky Deck in 2D? HELL YES)
* Proper 1-up music (preferably a remix of the title music), at least for Classic Sonic. EMERALD MUSIC DOES NOT COUNT.
* Original special stages. None of the three core games used the same special stage (3&K being counted as a single game), and neither did CD. I see no reason to bring back an old one instead of coming up with a creative new one.
Nothing big. Much like the steps they've already taken, it's about attention to detail more than anything else.

Oh my god, this almost could not look better.
I wonder if you have to take turns playing as each Sonic, or you could play as Classic or Modern throughout the whole game.

In all seriousness, this game looks great. I'm not a massive Modern Sonic hater but to see Sega actually giving a toss and releasing a proper, meat-and-drink, classic Sonic game is just, well, mindblowing.
Bravo Sega, bravo.
