Sonic 3 And Sally Acorn

    Trying to be useful somehow.
    You have to slide to destroy them, you don't even need a high speed, slow slides will destroy them anyway. Just press Down after destroying each wall because Sally seems to stand up after hitting them.

    Thanx for explaining that. Yes, I've added the ability to slide through it so far. I'm not sure why Sally keeps repositioning after each segment (though if hold down she won't stop like that), truthfully I've edited the rock object routine like crazy to try and get the laser to work with it but to no avail, which is annoying since that's about half the breakable object data in the game. I have problems getting to work past the check if Sonic is touching it (though it does work if you shoot right in front of the rock, when it is loading from the player for that split second).

    I've done some more testing on the hack, and found a couple of more issues, part of them being graphical ones:

    I realized that her projectile will always stay behind the waterfall in this boss fight. You'd think that would actually also hit Eggman while he's hiding behind the waterfall, hahah.

    Her edge animation has misplaced hair color on the sole of her shoes, making them change during super as well.

    This one is not so noticeable, but I noticed a little red pixel on her knee, which also changes during the super form.

    Not really a graphical issue, just a weird projectile behavior. During a jump, if you shoot straight first, and then attempt to shoot downwards, Sally will shoot her projectile in a diagonal direction. This also works if you shoot down and then forward during midair, and yes, it works with either projectiles.

    This is a rather weird scene, but not unexpected. Kind of thinking if her projectiles should be disabled during these-- because really, why wanting to shoot in the middle of those anyway?

    Palette oddity.

    Few other notable issues:

    - I personally find it very weird for her to trigger the super form by pressing any of the buttons in midair. It would be much more fitting if it was only the jump button that transforms her into super, given she doesn't really has any mid air action for the C button.
    - Shooting downwards uses the insta-shield sound effect instead of the sound she uses for shooting.
    - Regardless of jumping twice doing absolutely nothing, Sonic's insta-shield sound can still be heard.
    - There were numerous walls that couldn't be broken with her A button attack, but could be broken with her slide (mainly Hydrocity Zone). Feels inconsistent and rather weird.
    - This one is hard to explain, but everytime I'm playing as Sally, out of nowhere, I'll start hearing some weird background noise on a short loop. It kind of sounds like something charging, yet I have no idea what triggers it, but it starts to bother me very quickly.

    I think that noise you say is the wowowowowowo for sliding, am I right? It also plays sometimes wieh peeling out too, I think.

    Regarding to diagonal shooting, I thought it was a desired behavior, in fact I killed Ice Cap 1 boss with those most of the time. Now that you say so, I started experimenting with it and it seems that the way to trigger the diagonal shoot is shooting in mid air with Up pressed and then shoot downwards. That dones't only allow you to shoot twice in the same shot but also make the second one diagonal oriented.

    Okay, betatesting on Friday at 1:50 AM, my life is sooo intense.

    Can this hack be upped again? I was gonna make a wiki article about it but the file is gone. I can't believe this hack was missed last time. I enjoyed the last 2 installments.

    Ok, I read through the thread a little more and it says sprites are incomplete so I guess it's probably not ready for the wiki. I hope you continue working on this though.
