EDIT: Disregard this post, new stuff below.
Well, it's been a while since I've been using this site, after a certain post I'd rather forget.
As for what I've been doing, not much.
But that isn't important! I know what I should be talking about here.
A while back I was doing some lurking over on SSRG, and found a free assets thread.
I used some of these and started working on a Sonic 1 Hack.
These are some images from there.
Now, this hack I don't plan on putting in the Hacking Contest, at least for a while, I will keep working on it for fun.
As for the level names, I have some ideas.
Ash Mountain: This is the GHZ clone with art from the free assets thread you saw above.
I plan on making Act 2 a more underground themed level than the first one, which is almost entirely above ground.
What I plan on doing in act 3, along with all other act 3's is doing a GameGear and making a short level with no rings.
That's all I really have in plan for this zone at the moment.
???: The currently unnamed purple zone you also saw.
I'm not sure what to do with this one, although I have an interesting concept for modifying the art with some scrap metal(?)
Labyrinth: I decided to not show this zone as I've done literally nothing with it, not even change the name.
My reasoning for this is that LZ is annoying to modify for me, I use SonLVL so I can't change the underwater pallete or even see the water when I'm making a level.
My second reason, is that I just don't like Labyrinth, and I don't enjoy having to go through it over and over. (I made this Hack for fun, remember?)
As for my older hack, Sonic 1: Ruthess Edition, it's cancelled.
If the whole Hacking Sonic 1 experience has taught me anything, it's that you shouldn't work on a side project because it almost never works.
I don't have the right INI files for SonLVL. (I can't modify levels other than GHZ, SLZ, and LZ without an error message like THIS coming up.)
That's my excuse to why I can't do any levels other than the three I already mentioned.
Conclusion: Thanks for reading all of this, I really hope this wasn't a waste of time (For me OR you) and I'll continue working on this Hack, and see where it goes. (If anywhere that's not by desktop.)
Special Thanks: LuigiXHero and Gamma V on SSRG for some assets that I used.
