Post your funny Childhood memories (to do with Sonic, of cource).
Mine: I was really scared of CPZ Act 2 in Sonic 2, it was mainly near the end of the act when I needed air, but when that music started playing, I always handed my older brother the controller and ran into the kitchen until he got out of the water. Even now, it kinda freaks me out (obviously I don't run away now lol)
EDIT: I have to admit, this is kinda a list topic. Sorry mods! I didn't realise at the time!

There's already a topic like this. Please try not to create list topics! Anyway, welcome to the community, I hope your next posts will be able to compensate for what we here would view as 'non-topics'.

Besides, we've talked about
Sonic dreams we've had, and "
So how has Sonic affected your life?" on here before, so this is no different.

I guess I should actually add something to the topic. Speaking of the drowning music (which I'm sure freaked just about all of us out the first couple times), I had a friend whose little brother was absolutely terrified of it, to the point where he would run out the room whenever one of us went underwater for more than a couple seconds. I convinced him to stay one time we were going through S&K Collection and got to Hydrocity—when the crappy MIDI version started up, he started laughing out loud. It was pretty funny.

My brother and I actually cooked Chili from "Sonic's Chili Dog recipe" that was in the back of one of the early Archie comics. It turned out really good.
I used to try and hold my breath along with Sonic during any underwater segments, only taking a breath when Sonic got a bubble. Gave myself a bad headache once doing that, haha.

I might as well give my experience too:
I don't actually remember much about what I was like playing on Sonic when I was little, but I do remember on Sonic 2 SMS, trying as hard as I could to try an avoid Eggman/Robotnik from grabbing me with those pincers as I was falling down that large pit area - ANYTHING to try and avoid what was my worst nightmarish boss battle of all time, and I absolutely hated it (and I still do to this day!).I remember fuming like mad at not being able to beat it - especially when there's no rings on that level!
I suppose it's not really funny, but I can certainly remember the experience.

One of my cousins had a Game Gear with Tails Adventure. I'd never played it before or even heard of it at that point, so I was pretty excited. I played it for a few hours and got really far, and I was going to write down my password, but I accidentally mashed a few buttons when I leaned over to get a pen and paper, and a few characters in the password changed. I was so upset. I started frantically changing the first few characters around to try and get the password back, but to no avail.

So.. we're just turning a blind eye to list topics, how similar this is to other topics we've had and
this one?
Okay, well, I remember playing an odd Sonic 3 version in Epcot in 1996. Nothing I've seen since matches what I saw, and I remember it quite clearly. It's got me wondering whether I've just warped my own mind through the years or whether I just misinterpreted what I saw visually as I only had a short time playing it. It was a very similar but slightly different level of what appeared to be Angel Island.

Might've mentioned it in another thread, but actually one of my first memories (from when we lived in, ugh, Utah) is of my mom showing me how to beat the first boss in Sonic 1. I still have our original Genesis, but it's really banged up. Ahh memories.

I can remember playing S3 on the School playground when I was 4/5. I was running around pretending I was Super Sonic landing on Angel Island, then other people pretended that they were Super Sonic too. I was really mad because there is only 1 Sonic, and I was him.
There was another time when I was messing around with Debug in S3 alone, I went to Hydrocity, died, then used the Level Select to go back to Angel Island. The whole level was underwater, it was so cool

The only funny memory of my childhood was me playing Shadow the Hedgehog, and I managed to glitch through the floor and fall forever, not dying. This was really annoying because it only happened on one of the timed missions, and it was the last level I needed to beat to get Final Story. If I recall correctly it was the one with the Computer Room mission. Fun times.
Yeah, my childhood was of Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. Sue me.

My funny childhood memory is when I was playing the gamegear version of sonic 1 in Green Hill Zone and I hit robotnik so much that he has that panic face while his ship explodes and then has that red, charcoaled face-expression like "Oh crap!". Always cracked me up.

Some childhood memories I have about Sonic involve watching AOSTH and Sonic Underground as a kid. (I would watch SatAM years later on the DVD collection, really good show, felt bad I didn't know of it when it was around).
Another memory was Renting a copy of Sonic & Knuckles at Hollywood Video, the only problem was that the lock-on was messed up so I couldn't play Knuckles in Sonic 2 and S3&K, eventually I ended up trying to hunt down a cartridge of S&K to buy, it took awhile but eventually as a kid I finally got a copy!
And another great memory about Sonic comes from the dreamcast, I got it when it came out as an early birthday present, I set it up, put Sonic Adventure in and I was blown away with the intro. If any of you played the Adventure games as kid saw that intro you know what I mean. That was the most epic thing I'd ever seen when I was a kid, words could not explain what I was watching at the time.
