I don't know if it's been posted yet, but for those doing midnight opening tonight, GameStop has a site up to find local participating stores. Also, it confirms that tonight's opening is a dual opening for both Uncharted and Sonic, so they know we're coming.

Ya know what? a few of these tracks felt off for me, so I'll tell ya what I'll do: If you want me to, I'll do remixes/remakes of tunes you want replaced in the game.
I'm not exactly sure how you'll get 'em replaced, but I'm sure one of you knows how it works (exactly what file type does it need to be to work in there again? ). But still, since I got free time, I'm game for this madness.
Tell me what tune ya want replaced, and I'll try my best. Don't expect it done right away, but it'll be done in a reasonable time frame. Nothing could possibly go wrong with this, right?
So then......if ya got any requests, lemme know, ok?

Whoever was asking, yes, CNZ is accessed from the hub world; it's got hub music like everything else.
Speaking of hub music, the hub music numbered after 12 (that is, everything prefixed with EMBB064) (which IIRC goes to the final boss area) has a couple spaces. There's nothing corresponding to 13 (EMBB065) or 17 (EMBB069). They're on either side of the music for the rival battles. 18 (EMBB070) is the CNZ hub music.
This may not mean anything, but it could mean they're reserving these things for additional DLC. Either way, 13 might have been associated with a rival battle from the classic era given that Metal Sonic has 14 (EMBB066); 17 could have been a stage or another rival battle, from the modern area then if the latter.
Lending plausibility to the "scrapped/DLC rival battles" is that each era has exactly one other notable rival battle, featuring a character introduced during it at least. Hmmm...

Regarding the low review scores... look, the way Kirby's Return to Dreamland has been received has really taught me something about the modern mainstream game reviewers. The vast majority of them praised the gameplay and nostalgia, but compared the game very unfavorably to, of all things, Kirby's Epic Yarn. They said that RtD was lacking in originality compared to the Kirby spinoff games like Mass Attack and whatnot, implying that it's just not enough for a game to be a good platformer nowadays.
Action platformers -- Sonic games -- are my favorite genre to this day. But among the reviewers (and, I'd assume, a large subset of the younger gaming crowd), it's seen as outdated and old just by the virtue of its genre. And most of those reviewers, especially here in America, might not be nearly as nostalgic for Sonic as they are for Mario (whose NSMB games have gotten really favorable scores in spite of being retro throwbacks). So while I'd like to see it getting 9s, and for me personally it'll probably be UnendingOrgasm/10, that its getting mostly 8s is a great indication of how awesome it is.

You know what disappoints me about this game's cutscenes? They could have poked so much more fun at the continuity of the series then they did. Like I like how they mentioned saving genies from magic books and intersteller amusement parks. But I mean, come on. They could have had modern Sonic fuck up the Egg wrecking ball fight for classic Sonic, they could have had modern Sonic simply groan at Shadow being an idiot in that second cutscene after that boss since he knows what happens. Robotnik could have gotten ticked off by modern Sonic calling him Eggman. Hell they could have been confused as to all hell what Crisis City is. But most cutscenes simply take place in that white abyss. Hell, Classic tails just shows up out of no where to my knowledge. Where did he come from?
Beyond that though, I want this game. Why is it not tomorrow?
One odd thing I noticed though. They're using the SA2 Eggman theme in this game instead of the 06 one, funny considering not only has it been used for all "modern" games but at the same time it's played outside the boss gate for the egg dragoon, a game which used the 06 eggman theme.
