I'm really, really not liking the head, and I don't know how to fix it, because my try just made it worse in my opinion. I mean, the shine looks more like a smile than a shine. The body parts may have some problems too. Is someone willing to fix it?
The orange shine on the underbelly is really standing out to me. Does it look less noticeable when placed with the level art?
Fixed the shine issue. I just placed it off to the side and dimmed it a shade. I also edited the eyes to make them more distinguishable.

I think because this stage is going to have alot of greenery in it it should be a colour that is opposite, how do you feel about red? I have implemented a green stripe like all snakes have to show they are dangerous. I have done the eyes so you can see them both and thinned out the mouth (to be more snake like) and given a it tooth and a tongue. Though I'm thinking of removing the tongue because it doesn't seem to fit. Is it looking alright?

I'd agree to removing the tongue; to me, it makes the Badnik look more like a dragon than a snake. Otherwise, it's a nice variation, and I also agree that we should have some Badniks contrast from the scenery. However, some snakes are adapted to camouflaging into their environment, so the green is still a viable option. Nonetheless, I like your choice of colors, and as for the stripe, you should make it look like the stripe is indented into the red metal -- put some shades or tints on the edges of the stripes. That would make it look more detailed, and in my opinion, it'd look pretty cool. Also, edit the eyes a bit; they blend too much into the whites of the eyes to see clearly.

A red and green version. Only I'm having trouble getting the eyes to look right, can you help me? I think we're getting close!
Please fix those colours. It wouldn't hurt (In fact it would greatly help) to desaturate them ever-so-slightly. Darken the green a shade overall, even. Otherwise, it's looking pretty good. I could suggest experimenting with those eyes; do replicas of the face, with as many different eyes as you can think of, even if it seems like they'll just be goofy as shit -- you'll end up with a pleasing one amongst the chaos. Just try everything that springs to mind.
The darker of the two is a nice colour. Quite pleasing to the eye. But, I had a thought; what are the rainforest zone level colours going to be? I mean, is this supposed to be a badnik that would merge in with grass and plants, or is it supposed to stick out more? For the latter reason, I'd say give "caterkiller purple" a try, even though I like the green there. The face is better, but I'm still not sure about those eyes -- have you tried whiter eyes with a sold black pupil?

Might be a bit unorthodox but could you change the two 'spheres' that are in contact with the ground for feet? Probably make it a lot harder to animate but a step up from the classic sonic style snake like badnik

Oh, that's actually nice. Doesn't look too much like a caterkiller, either; and should contrast with the rainforest plants enough, depending what colours they are. But, Sonic being surreal and all (A hedgehog is what colour, again?) I don't see what would be wrong with a pink rainforest or something, heheheh. WOW GUYS, HERE'S AN AWESOME IDEA, S3 was to have MJ music -- let's rip off some Prince for this, and have Purple Rain Forest Zone.

To be honest I thought the red snake was the best looking. At first I didn't like the purple snake either, but curious as to what kind of snakes might be purple, there's this one here: It's Amazonian even. I now approve. Of course this might just mean that it's time for a snailbot?
No, I don't like the purple. It looks enough like a Caterkiller before purple is added into the mix. I really like the red and dark green, though. One request for the sprite, however: it might just be me, but I think the mouth of the snakebot looks way too much like a duck bill. Just my opinion.
Quick thought, why don't we have mud (in the style of oil ocean) in this level rather then water, a few of the early sonic games had at least one level with the semi-solid/liquid type gimmick.
Yes, I agree; definitely use quicksand. It fits the rainforest motif, and adds to the danger aspect that an ancient jungle city should have. Can someone say Indiana Jones? :P
Well I was only thinking mud because this zone was going to take place in the rain, no idea if that idea is going to still be used. Besides quicksand isn't nessecarilly made from actuall sand it can be any fine material, silt, clay even ash if you count mudslides and the like as well. So its fairly open to artistic interpretation.
