But yeah, it's... surprisingly quiet for such anniversary.
(BTW - if someone due to this occasion is planning to play in this weekend in something Sonic-esque via internet, I'm eager to join! I'm quite interested in Sonic Robo Blast 2 multiplayer, and I've never had an opportunity to try it).

It is odd, I have to say,
Regardless of an announcement next month, all I've seen is a video on YouTube from the official channel, going through each game through the years. While others have posted their well wishes on social media, or posts on their own sites.
But, the day isn't over yet; there could still be something.

Shouldn't at least SEGA be celebrating this day?
Psh, no. The actual 25th anniversary isn't worth celebrating. Who cares. Better to show off the new game at an event that only an extremely small subset of people will be able to witness. It's way better that way.

I think it says something that they're waiting to reveal the next game once they have something to show, rather than trying to beat an impossible deadline.
There's plenty of celebrating to go around despite that. There are two big Humble Bundles, NioZero showed us Amazon and Twitter celebrating his birthday, and there's more celebratory fan art today than you can shake a stick at. I would have drawn something myself if the midterm exam for a class wasn't breathing down my neck this week.
Man, this is such a bummer. It was already a questionable enough decision to not put the 25th Anniversary party (and consequently the game announcement) in June, but the fact they completely dropped the ball in terms of promotional anything is a huge bummer.
Bundles on Amazon and Steam are great, but not going to lie, I'm still salty that the game announcement wasn't today.
