    I DONE MAKED GAMES.
Master Emerald, you are without a doubt the best thing to happen to this project -- the shield there shows that you can judge extremely well hw to enhance a graphic and still keep it close to the original, and the font shows that you have an amazing eye for construction and general shapes.

    Excellent stuff!

    FontScoring still remains

    *edit*

I just remembered your comment on the database regarding FontScoring:
"We already have a remastered font of this, so don't bother remastering it."

Someone, upload the remastered font then! O_O

Very well, we'll not mention Sonica's name on these forums again. We'll just refer to him as "one of our staff" if he makes a contribution that needs to be posted here.

Oh, I'm really surprised! Thank you very much! Also, I'm not the best thing! You will see that as a team we are the best, not only one person, but, thanks again ^^!

I'm gonna upload the new shield now.

    Nice combined effect!! :D

The only thing it worries me is the total amount of frames used: 17!!!
If there are 3 different monitors it could result in 51 monitors-only frames, which is quite heavy if there is something else on screen that moves.

Just the same animation with faster interval and some removed frames (now a total of 12, which is still much)

Great work Woot! You made the static more interesting by having it scroll upwards. It looks just like an old analogue TV, which I think is great.

I think the period of the still image is still too long. The stillness of the image should be dynamic - so it gives the player the feeling that he's looking at a real TV where the image is shimmering. So it should never be completely still, especially not for a whole second.

So what I have in mind is: it's still for about a quarter of a second. Then it warps - just very very slightly, for another quarter of a second. And then it's still again for another quarter of a second. Perhaps repeat that sequence once. And then, that's when you could introduce the scrolling static and the bigger warp effect.

This is a way of making the image look more dynamic, as if you are looking at a real TV that is actually flickering ahd shimmering, while still allowing you to see the item that is being displayed.

Let's wait for Vincent's reply to how many frames this should be.

Answering to Woot, we plan to double all the animation frames from the originals to give a better "HD" experience.

However, In this case your animation is more complex than the on-off original animation so we cannot base off a 2 or 4 frame animation.

First of all do your animation with all the frames you need. Than reduce the total to 8 unique frames.
(Without including the repeated ones! )
If we get a 3 different monitors on screen total frames will "only" be 24! :)

I think something like static effects and whatnot should be considered after the basic frames are done; if you spend too much time on some arbitrary effect, you detract focus that could be spent on creating new content. Just put it in the concept art thread and let's move on, eh?

    Haha, yeah!
In the past week I already needed to move the excellent Special Stage discussion to the Concept Art thread as it was originally posted here.

    Anyway this case is different,
Considering that the monitors are listed as one of the required art we need,
His art is the most advanced and complete Monitor blinking contribution submitted so far. Woot please complete it asap so we can use it! :v:
(remember to save the settings of the blinking effect you used, as the other item icons will be processed like this.)

Just in case we get more different conceptual Monitor effects, I'll move the rest to the Concept Art topic.

BTW, anyone wants to finish the Starpost's star once for all?
    Blast? :D

EDIT: More conceptual artwork arrived, moved posts.
Please, continue your progresses on conceptual flickering monitors on the Concept Art thread.
