http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVbQF0Ubz48 This is a way better PC port than Metal Gear Rising's and NieR Automata's. (Though lol at what Digital Foundry considers an old PC) Also apparently SSAO doesn't do that much and turning it off does give a pretty decent performance boost if you need it.
To be fair, the i5-3570k he tested is a good five years old at this point, but Moore's law has been taking rather a hiatus lately so this thing is still a pretty decent workhorse. The GTX 970, though, is only two and a half years old. Maybe just a bit long in the tooth by gaming PC standards, but only barely; Nvidia has only released one generation since then. I was actually kinda glad of the particular specs he chose for his "older PC" because they're pretty much exactly what I have. At this point I can't help but wonder what the odds are of a PC port of Bayonetta 2. The obvious answer is that it simply won't ever happen because Nintendo, but Mass Effect was in a similar situation with Microsoft and yet EA still eventually brought it to PS3. I'd imagine the chances of this happening are pretty low, but a guy can hope.
Yeah. But EA outright bought BioWare. They probably paid Microsoft or something. I don't see Nintendo allowing it.
Three hours in and it has played really well so far. Although there are some strange quirks, like some frame pacing issues during cutscenes (dropping frames randomly) and sometimes stuttering when moving around. Although thankfully it doesn't happen during combat. Also one crash when trying to check control layout while trying out new moves in shop. Running on Windows 10 with GTX 1060, i5 6500 and 16 GB RAM, by the way.
Hmm... tempting, but I'm ultimately gonna wait for it to go on sale. Trying to cut back on excessive spending for now. Wonder if there's a chance for the sequel to get a PC port too.
Well, you can save 3 dollars/euros if you buy it through Bundle Stars (4 if you insert the coupon code (EASTER5)). Yeah, it is not much but still... Also, I doubt the sequel will come anytime soon, if at all. It is still a Nintendo exclusive as far as I know.
So, anyone who purchases Bayonetta after April 25th, 2017 will not get the extra content that current purchasers are getting and it is absolutely unknown if it will ever be made available once it's gone. So since the extra content is apparently just in a folder that anyone can access, someone mind uploading it somewhere?
There you go, uploaded it in Dropbox. If you know any better uploading service, then please let me know: I'm kind of newbie with these things.
I swear I've downloaded things from dropbox without the app before, but it seems I didn't. Anyone mind mirroring Ravi's stuff in a .zip file or something for me? I only have a phone. Thanks for uploading it in the first place, Ravi.
So the Bayonetta PC port just got a very small update. The only change: A Vanquish avatar was added to the game's Extras folder. So looks like that'll be the next Sega/Platinum game to get a PC port. And really out of all of the last gen Sega or Platinum games, this is the one that most deserves one. Really cool game that was held back by it running at sub-30fps. It should be amazing at higher resolutions and 60fps.
