Hi, I've chosen to start making my first hack on any game, and wanted to do it on one of my most favorite games ever, Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I'm not here asking for someone to do it all for me, I've got a great deal of it mostly done. I'm here to ask if anyone is willing to tell me how to get do diagonal sprites. I'm talking about when sonic runs around in a loop, and his sprite pops in and out of my own sprite. I've seen a lot of hacks have this problem, and I don't want my hack to be one of those. If anyone would help me, i would greatly appreciate it. And if I for some reason can't do it myself, I ask now, instead of making an entire new topic, if I could send the spites I'm working with, and see what that person could do. Of course, anyone willing to help, will be in credit. Thanks in advance to anyone. Good day! :thumbsup:/>

The Sonic games use separate sprites for when Sonic's on the ground, on a wall, or on a slope. Now there isn't a set of sprites for every set of angles, since there are only really sprites for the first half of the angles, while the game will just the flip the sprites when necessary.

To make your own rotated sprites, there's a tool called RotSprite that you can use to rotate sprites without anti-aliasing or any other kind of filtering other tools may apply. Even with this tool, you may want to manually modify them afterwards more to make them look nice. After all that, just import them over the rotated sprites in the game, and tada!

Believe it or not, I've actually figured that out! The whole flipped sprites and which ones actually change in degrees. But, omg, thank you! This helps so much! I wasn't really looking forward to having to manually draw the sprites at those angles. You would think that just typing how to rotate a sprite in google would bring this program up. Lol, again, thank you so much sir. Good Day!

Well, now I have another problem. After editing the 45 angle sprite, the first one turned out fine. But after editing the second one with different sprite, the outcome is the same. This:[IMG] I hope this image showed up. If anyone knows how to fix this, please help! Good day!

You can't post direct file paths from your computer; you'll have to upload the particular screenshot you're trying to post to an image or file hosting site, such as imgur or dropbox. embed the hotlink in [IMG]
