Just made a playthrough of the hack: http://youtu.be/eV1PxhjKvYA Gotta say, it's enjoyable but the entrance to emerald coast needs to be fixed, I took like 5 minutes to get to the stage and some of the camera angles need to be fixed.
I should've warned that there was a warp in the center of the area where the Whomp fight was at, and that you had to hold forward on the springs, also you should've used the GameShark codes provided to enhance the gameplay.
Can I get a link to a ROM so I don't have to faff around patching something with software I don't need? I'd like to try it but I refuse to download patch files - it's 2015, patch files should stop being a thing.
Hey, this looks even better than I expected. Good work! Indeed... The file size difference is probably irrelevant and I don't think anybody at Nintendo or SEGA is going to send a cease and desist for sharing the full modified ROM. =|
I took the liberty of putting a zip folder containing the patched ROM, along with the readme and gameshark code files onto my Dropbox here. If the creator would rather I not do this I can get rid of the link if requested, though I think the main reason it's a patch file anyway is due to SMW Central's rules not allowing full ROMs. Can't wait for this to be a full complete project by the way, looking forward to it!
Here you guys go: Rom link Edit: Just saw jimmy linked one also. Oh well more links won't hurt. As for the camera issue you can control the camera uses the C buttons.
Any progress? Just for kicks, I found a pic from years ago when I ported the Mystic Ruins hub into the game.
UPDATE: -Added a german translation -Fixed some inconveniences, such as warps. DOWNLOAD: SMWCentral Mirror (Patching Required) Google Drive Mirror (No Patching Required)
Yeah, this is super cool. Can't wait to see more, have you been testing on hardware at all or just emulators?
Sadly Most SM64 hacks don't work on real hardware. Mostly because of all the extending and data shifting. There has been an effort to fixing that though.
Hey there, it's been a while since I've posted anything to on this thread, but I promise the wait is worth while. So a lot of things have changed. We now have a group called Team CornerSoft and we will be working on this hack (as well as many others together). We're working as hard as we can to port everything together and hopefully soon we can show more progress along the way. Addressing the previous post, no hacks (other than the recent conversion of SM64 Missing Stars) works on console. If there is an eventually way to port our hacks to console, you can expect Sonic Adventure 64 to work on there too. Hope to show more stuff off soon!
Wow this looks great! Personally to make it better, you could probably try adding in a rough version of Sonic's actual physics. It's possible. (Video posted for reference - the description of which actually has the code behind it)
