New Sonic game announced

Advance sprites on megadrive EHZ tiles, whyyyyyyyyyyyy sega.

 

MegaDrive EHZ Background, MegaDrive GHZ Foreground, Advanced Sprites, bad Resizing job... This reminds me so much of a bad fangame I once played.

 

The only thing im curious about is the shadow sprites just rehashed battle sprites or actual advance sprites of him?

 

Wow...I've seen better fan-games. This is harsh. They might as well steal fan-made game art from SFGHQ or something.

 

My curiosity was piqued for a moment until I realized "Wait, if this was a game worth caring about, the title would be something like 'NEW SONIC GAME WHERE HE DOESN'T HAVE A SWORD AND THERE'S NO WEREHOG SHIT AND IT'S JUST SONIC IN DAYTIME LEVELS' so it must not be worth caring about"

I was right!

 

Advance sprites and EHZ tiles do not work well together, it's like a bad sprite comic come to life.

 

I have to agree with everybody here, the Advance sprites on EHZ are just weird. Nonetheless, when it comes out, and if somebody can translate it, I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

 

why do japanese devs are wasting resources in creating games for cellphones, the market is limited and they could have better results doing it for wiiware, xbla or psn.

 

A quiz game, honestly? I heard the Sonic Jump cell phone games were decent. Probably should have just done another one. I guess quiz games are like, the ideal cell phone game. though.

 

Honestly the Advance sprites don't bother me as much as the fucked-over GHZ art does. Main issue I have with the Advance sprites is that I dislike the black outline.

 

So...

...any word on what the questions ask? Are we talking common knowledge, pop culture, or Sonic-specific stuff?

 

If it doesn't have a host named Nate, Buzz, Guy, Cookie or Schmitty, it's already doomed to be mediocre quiz.

The only event I can imagine Eggman in a Tuxedo would be him at his wedding, and that... eh, that woulda been ugly all over again.

Just wonder what they actually will ask ya - can't imagine it's too uncommon knowledge, but who knows, maybe we'll even learn something we didn't know from this game, if anyone would translate the hidden goodies, anyhow. ... hey, I can dream, can't I?

 

EHZ background, GHZ foreground, advanced sprites?

This actually reminds me of an advertisement I saw for a cell phone a while back. I think it was like a GO phone or some shitty trackfone service. It too had horribly resized sprites, EHZ background, and GHZ foreground. Only you could see the JPEG artifacts on the background. And it was a flash advertisement. With JPEG artifacts.

So in conclusion, at least this cellphone game does not have horrible artifacts all over the picture.
