Gathering information on Sega World Sydney and collecting Sonic merchandise.
I need those remixes they used in the background.

"Sega has released the Genesis, or the Mega Drive in the United States" I think he got mixed up

    "Multi-part"?

Oh, Christ! Can I have a subtitled version please? His voice makes me want to punch him

    It's SAYGA not SEHGA

    MIDI-to-SMPS-conversions, mostly. Takin' requests, too.
Actually, that's how pretty much everybody I know has always pronounced it - including the people in the Sega-logo-screens on Sonic Genesis titles and games since Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).

  7. Nice use of very similar images from both Mickey Mouse and Mario.

    It's a very common pose.

  9. Right, but it struck me as clever imagery to use both of them back-to-back, instead of any other image of either character.

No, it's SEHGA. Remeber, Sega is a Japanese name, it's pronounced with vowels like in Spanish, not like in English. Also like it has been said, the Sega scream in all Sonic games pronounces it like that.

I like that guy's videos, not that I learn much from them since we seem to be on a similar level of gaming knowledge, but they're interesting to watch. I was wondering how he'd go about doing that video, and the result was quite nice.

That said, I didn't recognize that short video at 2:16, with Sonic running through a desert of sorts. Did I miss something?

    It's from a Japanese ad.

It's cited, and I've read similar text in a paperback video game history book.

Either way, yeah, anyone I've ever known has said it as "Seh-Ga", with the exception being those with thicker southern accents who can't really help it I guess.

Though...I suppose it could still be a Japanese name considering it was changed to Service Games when they got there.

    I really don't care how it's pronounced, but I personally say "Seh-ga."

Now, on the 'May-rio" vs "Mah-rio" debate, I can't fucking stand east-coasters and their inability to say "Mah-rio."

Anyway, I thought for sure you guys with your superior Sonic knowledge would nit-pick this video. I thought the Michael Jackson's boots bit seemed like a made-up rumor.

And you want an annoying voice over, Blanche? Listen to this guy:

    *clears throat* It's-a Me! Mah-rio!
Unlike those of us Rage speaks of (us being east-coasters), I pronounced it properly even before SM64.
If this guy updates tomorrow, I'll have something to do until SAGE.

...I always though it was pronounced the way they say it on the Sega screen on the Sonic games.

Which is like Flygon said, they say "SEEEEEEEGAHHHH"

That's how I've always pronounced SEGA.

Only in some parts of the world. Others have some man having a fit

IOW: I pronounce it Sayga like the Sega screen in my region, anything else sounds clumsy and awkward
