I think that sounds awesome, particularly the strings in the background and the arpeggios. You really make the interplay between the D Major and C Major chords seem magical to me. However, I think it's arranged too much for what we want here. :P

Well, he did say he was going to rearrange it back to more closely match the original song. I don't think it should be chnaged much beyond that.

Throwing a chip in for my Metropolis Zone for the hell of it. Don't expect anyone to like it as for some reason FL buggered up the intro and I have no idea why. But still, it's here, whatever that means.

I'll also repost my Hilltop Zone, because I still dig the saxamaphone in it.

Ooh, I like the Metropolis (especially the growling low synths -- make louder?), but could you go with something a bit more saw/charang styled than sine/square for the chords in the verse? Since the original used a synth-brass type of sound, I feel that would be more appropriate.

I dunno, square waves get old for me fairly fast.

You know what would be really cool? To keep the FM style tunes, but with like 6 operator intruments, like a full DX7, rather than say, the FB-01 (which is very similar to what the Genesis has). I realize that's a tall order though, and FM synthesis isn't for the faint of heart.

One thing I'd like to know is are you guys using GYM/VGM rips (and just redoing the drums) to remaster these tunes with, or are you actualy rewriting the songs from scratch? Either is fine, in this situation at least. I'm just curious.

I'm not too satisfied with it.

I think they're MIDIs rendered with new patches and effects. That's it. But I could be wrong.

And yeah, FM Synthesis means we're really hardcore. I don't think that's likely to happen here.

Cinossu: The Mothersbaughs would be proud of your WFZ remix.

That's actually what I meant. A GYM/VGM to MIDI conversion. I wordedit poorly. I do that. :P

For what it's worth, Cinossu, I think those tunes your giving out for fun would do amazingly well placed in the credits sequence. Just a thought, but I think it's light-hearted enough and it's be great to listen to.
