... yes, they specifically name it Sally Acorn AKA RICKY, much like how they also mention Johnny Lightfoot and Porker Lewis. It's just the old western names for the animals, people.

I have this game - got it with a DIDj for the collection and to see what it was like compared to PICO stuff...

...it is essentially like a Flash game. Levels and sprites taken from the actual games and it plays/works okay, but those who like the classic physics will notice the difference. The game controls kinda weird, and basically you answer question in mini games to progress past certain points.

    Not much else to say.

You can earn points to unlock different victory poses and animal friends and stuff...

Has anyone ever ripped the sprites from these games? I actually am fond of a couple of them

No unfortunately, before we ever got a sprite set the guy who was dumping and extracting the rom disappeared.

Nah were just finding it funny that old material is still being used in some way. you'd think SEGA would've used more modern names for them.

  8. Yeah, exactly. It's kind of interesting in a way, but I find their butchering of the zone names to be interesting. They researched the old western names for the smaller elements to the game but then fucked up the zone names badly? What gives.

It was an interesting design document-- I will say that had it functioned properly as far as physics go and such, it would have been a love letter to Sonic. The soundtrack instrumentation isn't half bad, and the blending of elements from the Genesis Sonic games was neat to see.
