...Sega had E3 presence in the past four years? But hey, this lineup isn't too shabby. Too bad the gaming press probably won't report about it very much.
Obviously, Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces is a given. I'm also kind of interested in the Radiant Historia remake, the Strange Journey remake, and a bit curious about the Etrian Odyssey game. I played Radiant Historia, but put it down for a while and ended up completely lost as far as what I needed to do next when I came back, as well as forgetting enough about the battle system mechanics that I was getting my ass kicked by the enemies. (Apparently I quit REALLY far into the game, so I needed more than a refresher) I've played Devil Survivor, and I'm currently playing Persona 3 (for the first time) so I have an idea what to expect from a Shin Megami Tensei game. I actually played the original Strange Journey, but never got around to finishing it. I don't know why, it just felt like it was missing something important, but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Maybe the remake will have it figured out. Etrian Odyssey is a series that I've never played before, so I don't know very much about it. I know just enough to know that it's the kind of game that will either be right up my alley, or kind of "meh" as far as my tastes go, but like I said, I've never gotten around to it. Is continuity a major thing in this series, or is it like Final Fantasy in that each game is mostly self-contained? I want to know how good of a starting point this new game will be.
The games are mostly independent, though tangentially related. They're not especially story-driven, though, and each game's plot is more important than any overarching continuity. Plus, Etrian Odyssey V looks like it takes place on a new world, though I know nothing about its plot yet. I absolutely adore Etrian Odyssey Untold (in Classic Mode) and it's sadly the only one I've finished. Generally fans recommend trying Etrian Odyssey III (DS) or IV (3DS) as a starting point, because both Untold games have some major flaws. I haven't finished Untold 2 yet because I suck at strategy, am stubbornly clinging to Expert mode, and am stuck on the 4th Stratum boss. From what I've heard, the general fan consensus on Etrian Odyssey V is that it's in the same league as III and IV if not even better. I'll definitely be getting it as soon as it comes out in my region, but if you're looking for a starting point I'd suggest either IV or Untold because they're probably a lot cheaper.
Earlier today Sega tweeted the SEGA screen from Comix Zone: https://twitter.com/SEGAForever/status/874537678200549376 Is there any live stream scheduled where they're supposed to announce things, or will they just drop at some point during this week? Didn't see a thread about this reference so pardon me if it's being discussed somewhere.
https://twitter.com/ROMvg/status/874608760899108864 Looks to be mobile related, and likely just more re-releases. Oh well.
Ugh, Comix Zone is irritating enough on a three-button controller instead of six-button. I can't imagine trying to play it with a touchscreen.
