That Sandopolis remix is fire! Echoing everyone's sentiments, I hope Tee Lopes remains a fixture in both remixing and composing for Sonic titles. Also hoping we get some more Sonic 3 remixes, ideally ones that the Jackson crew worked on, to put those music-rights issues to rest. Offtopic but I believe the music ain't the hold up, but the nature of the &Knuckles portion is the root of its re-release woes nowadays. Jun's back? Where?
He's basically so high up the ladder he doesn't have anything to do with the day-to-day management of game music. The last game he did music for was Sonic Free Riders.
He's done (mostly backend?) sound related stuff for games including Mania and is the guy who works out all the stuff with guest singers for the themes. He's also been on guitars for some of Ohtani's stuff I believe. I'm hoping he sticks around to after TSR to contribute to future game soundtracks!
This remix of Sandopolis is absolutely gorgeous. Tee & Jun are a brilliant combination. Hoping they've collaborated on more tracks in TSR. Nice to see Sandopolis getting some more love after being referenced in Mania (in Oil Ocean). *Dreams of fully remastered 3&K soundtrack by Tee Lopes*
Now that's a cool Sandopolis remix, sounds like it could have belonged in Sonic Adventure 2. That said, I'm looking forward to hearing more classic remixes with less electric guitar, as cool as Jun Senoue may be. =P
Everything so far has been so vague that they must think it's not ready to even talk about, hence the delay. Hopefully they bring more info between now and release. Weren't Aaron and company going to do more streams around now? Maybe they'll come back when they can show the game more candidly.
Jeez, for a game that was originally supposed to release this year, it's hard to believe they're hiring key roles like these this late. Just how far behind schedule are they?
Most likely game developers seeking better rates at other game companies which is common everywhere and as a result, positions need to be filled in. Example is DICE at the time when Battlefront 2 was in development, 40 employees left to join other companies: https://www.altchar.com/games-news/579083/around-40-employees-have-left-ea-dice-this-year Either the game is bad, or the devs are not paid enough.
He was credited in Mania... Also, on the JP Mania OST release that came with the Plus physical version, there is a version of Hyper Potions - Time Trials called Time Trials Plus that has Senoue doing guitars on it!
Looks like we've got an upload of the Rooftop Run track to listen to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3OXj87D0Tc
The heck is that new melody on top? Is it from another Hyper Potions song or something? I find it distracting, like a mashup that's not mixed very well. Otherwise, it's fine. :v:
I kind of feel like both styles are clashing a bit. Sort of like the track would sound better if it was just Jun or just Hyper Potions. It's not bad though.
Right after the reveal of Sandopolis... it's a smoother version that's still very close to the original, what did you expect? Lol
http://youtu.be/2ypxaNjbeXU Don't worry guys, Seaside Hill is back! Isn't Whale lagoon what they called the Sonic and SEGA All-Stars racing version of seaside Hill? the screenshot that use also looks a lot like that course as well. I hope they're not also reusing levels from previous racing games...
