For a few months I've sat on a couple of Wii Sonic builds. I couldn't release them here due to a few rules but now the times up I can post these without issues. (@Staff these are 7 years old.)

There's 2 builds, One I released on AssemblerGames awhile back (I go by Demon there.) but didn't post here as there wasn't really much of interest in the data. Just a few config's not found in the final, but I'll drop the link below to review build also.

The first one and most interesting happens to be the GamesCom 2009 version and has a different title screen to go with it. It displays "GC Version" under the title.

Comparing this with the Review from my other release it has over 500 file changes meaning it has many more when compared to retail which I haven't done yet.

This is a raw RVT-R image meaning it will not boot in emulators. To get it working you have to decrypt the image then extract the files with WiiScrubber. This version has been edited to decrypt RVT-R images.

When you open it will error saying "Doesn't seem to be the correct key.bin Do you want to use anyways??" click yes and select the iso. This happens as WiiScrubber wasn't designed to do RVT-R images and I replaced the retail key with the dev one.

Once you have done this you can set the file paths in the dolphin emulator and load the files.

This version was created as Revision 27994 2009/07/08 15:52:59 the review build was Revision 28588 2009/08/04 11:53:04 and the retail was Revision 28600 2009/08/05 15:45:17

I have not played it so have fun working out all the changes!

I managed to get the M&S 2010 GamesCom prototype to boot on USB Loader GX. :) (Turns out the issue with Black Knight was, in fact, the corrupt H3 table.)

Basically, what I did is I replaced the issuer strings with the retail issuers, re-encrypted the title key with the retail common key, and replaced the certificate chain with the retail certificate chain. I then used 'wit` to fakesign the ticket and TMD. It should be possible to handle this in the loader and/or cIOS directly, though when I tried that before, it failed due to aforementioned H3 issue.

Anyways, here's a ZIP file containing the VCDIFFs (use xdelta3): ms2010.rvt.patches.zip
I created patches for both builds, and both an apply and revert patch are included for each build.

Only the data partition has been updated. The update partition still uses the RVT-R key, and it only has two firmware WADs, both of which are useless on retail systems (and could possibly brick a retail Wii if installed, assuming you do a similar key change there).

Good news: The Dolphin maintainers merged my RVT-R patch today. The next builds will be able to load these RVT-R prototypes directly without any patching or extracting.

Bumpy bump, so I sat down today and had a fiddle seeing as nobody else did. I'll just let screens speak for themselves.

Nice! Always loved the Winter Games game, could be that im biased in that i lived in Vancouver for most of my life but it was by far my favorite of the M&S games. The soundtrack is also superb, highly recommend checking it out! can listen to this tune forever http://youtu.be/VGVz6Epv0MI
