    I thought each game was going to have its own set of trophies/achievements! I only care about Revenge of Shinobi ;_;

They should've at least put in "complete the Expert course in Super Hang-on".

    That shit is difficult.

I have no idea and I doubt they're going to do it differently for the PSN.

Now that its out a year later, was it revealed who translated the game? I assume it was Gaijin Works?

Got the rom out of the WAD. It seems like a new compile, so there's nothing in the patch file. Not sure I could post the ROM though.

But the header section of the ROM says "Multi Languege editon Ver.2011/07/25 JUE". It works fine in Fusion. The dialog in the game is stored in plain text near the very very end of the ROM.

I'll pick both of these up later. Heck, I might even get the collection once it is released on XBLA/PSN.

Nintendo and other third-party developers should start taking notes from Sega, and localize their backlog of games that never received a Western release.

Well there's quite a list of the Sega ones... Monster World IV just happens to be one of the more well-known ones so of course it got the attention =P

So how is the emulation in the Monster World collection?

Does the intro with Star Wars-like scrolling text show up in Monster World IV?

    RELEASE IT YOU FOOL! :argh:

The collection has yet to be released on XBLA/PSN.

The Star Wars-like intro is still in the game. I must say, the font looks really nice; it fits the game very well.

I finally, FINALLY nabbed a boxed copy of Saiyuki World for the Famicom. With this, I finally have the complete Wonderboy series, including every spin-off. I have:

    Wonderboy (SMS)
    Wonderboy in Monster Land (SMS)
Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap (SMS)
Wonderboy III: Monster Lair (Mega Drive)
    Wonderboy in Monster World (Genesis)
Monster World IV (Genesis, NTSC-U Translated)
    Monster World Complete Collection (PS2)

Wonderboy spun off Adventure Island, of which I have the following:
Adventure Island (NES) - direct 1:1 port of Wonderboy
    Adventure Island (Gameboy)
    Adventure Island 2 (NES)
    Adventure Island 2 (Gameboy)
    Adventure Island 3 (NES)
Adventure Island 4 (NES, NTSC-U Translated)
New Adventure Island (Turbo Grafx 16)
    Super Adventure Island (Super NES)
Super Adventure Island 2 (Super NES)
    Adventure Island (PS2)
    Adventure Island: The Beginning (Wiiware)

Wonderboy in Monster Land spun off Saiyuki World, which has the following:
Saiyuki World (Famicom) - Direct 1:1 port of Monster Land
    Whomp 'em/Saiyuki World 2 (NES)

The Turbo Grafx got it's own port of the Monster World series, which has the following:
Bikkuriman World (PC Engine) - Monster Land
Dragon's Curse (Turbo Grafx 16) - Wonderboy III: Dragon's Trap
Monster Lair (Turbo Grafx CD) - Wonderboy III: Monster's Lair
Dynastic Hero (Turbo Duo) - Monster World

Next, I'm going to complete the collection by getting all the ports of Wonderboy. This will likely be a much more difficult undertaking, as a couple of the ports are hyper rare. Getting the C64, Amstrad CPC, and ZX Spectrum versions should be easy. I already have the arcade PCB, Game Gear port (called Revenge of Drancon). What will be difficult is finding the SG-1000 cart, and even more difficult will be finding the Sega My-Card SG-1000 port. That version is very elusive.

But the most difficult port to find will be the Sega Card version of Wonderboy. Nobody is even sure if this game actually exists. No japanese copy has ever been seen or hinted at, and the only reason people believe it exists is because of a picture of a US/European box that was featured in Sega Master System promotional documentation. A few people have said they've seen it before, but at the moment, no one has been able to verify its existence.

That's all for later. For now, I have the full Wonder boy set. I'm especially proud that I have the entire Sega line of games - the entire series, every entry, including a translated version of Monster World IV that I made myself. I even made a manual. When Monster World IV launches on XBLA/PSN, I'm going to post a picture of the collection online.

I see the only flaw in the MWIV translation is that they used "Prapril" as the romanization instead of "Purapril" like in Wonder Boy V, but everything else feels like an official translation from back in the day. It's kind of funny how they solved the translation problems with the second Pyramid dungeon.

So I can only recommend purchasing this.
