So, I have a ton of music dvds and ISOs, and Id like to convert them to mkvs. I don't know how far along converting has come, but is it possible to keep the chapters? Is handbrake the best program? Also, for gutted out dvds with the vob and ifo files, is it possible to convert all content into 1 mkv file? And might as well ask this, are mp4s better in any way? Both are HD containers, but why is mkv more popular?
I fell behind the times =( thanks in advance though

For utilities, check the official site's Downloads page; for example, it links to VOB2MKV.

    Chapters are definitely supported.

Is MKV more popular than MP4? I hadn't noticed. Anyway, a container won't affect the quality of the stuff contained in it—only things like which players you can use, which formats you can store in it and how, and so on.

I don't know much about this, but that's what I got from about a minute's Googling and a tiny bit of background knowledge. I'm sure you can find all the good stuff with a little more work, or maybe someone else here knows all about it already.

This is the final word in MKVs. Simple, fast, no transcoding (100% of the data is stored), and can read VOB and straight DVDs.

^ Oh awesome, just tried it out, so far so good, but Im curious, I cant find on the site if it can do compression. Googling says yes, but I guess there's something else to use?

edit - seems handbrake is what I needed for compression, its actually keeping the titles and dual audio. Thanks for your helps guys, though if anyone has anything else to add (best settings for standard vid or some shizz) feel free to add
