download, mirror, etc.
Released on my birthday, too =P It's a one-level demo. I personally prefer the music in this over that in the final, which is quite different, if I recall.
It works on my M3 SD. The ROM boots in the emulator DeSmuME 0.5, but the title screen is in Japanese (not so on the real hardware), the graphics are garbled, and it locks up before the game is playable. If you have a means of playing backups on your own DS, however, check it out =)
Have fun.

Fucking awesome.

In other news, I like how I was completely right about the soundtrack being entirely different prior to the final game.

Heran's mirrored it on SonAR:

Pretty cool, shame I can't play it yet. NDesMuMe 0.4.0 still isn't good enough.

Runs perfectly on my DS-X flashcard. BTW, I trimmed the rom to nearly 4 Mb, lol.

Yeah, the soundtrack is completely different. It's so damn awesome. I would like the final game so much better if they didn't change the soundtrack.

Also, the game has a different title screen and boss dies in 4 hits, boss has only 2 attacks (can't roll its head) and there're no Eggman's remarks at all.

Works fine on... Supercard SD. =(
ROM is mirrored on SonAR as Qjimbo said. Euro Sonic Rivals is up too. =P

By the way, as we already surmised before about this E3 demo, you can dash in air. All our old observations from the video are still accurate.

He rolled his head at me just now. Perhaps you're beating him too quick?

Pictures of the actual cart bug me a bit. It says "DS Flashcard 512M(Bit)" in Japanese. Is it some developers' flashcard then? Can you flash it with your own rom?

Oh, can anyone translate the instructions on it? I figure it's something relating to some sort of switch between ROMs or something, but I don't see a switch anywhere, and I don't wanna open it =P

Could someone be so kind as to rip the soundtrack for those of us who lack DS emulators or flashcards?

I always held a theory that in very early stages, this game was meant for the Gameboy Advance (essentially Sonic Advance 4, which it arguably is anyway), and then when they decided to move to the DS, they figured "Hey, why not amp up the soundtrack as well?". If there was any truth to this, it would also explain the presence of the sprites.
