Pretty much the situation I'm in.

 

I just figured out that I can preorder the Collectors Edition and then cancel it later before it ships and not get charged if something changes.

I NEED TO PREORDER IT NAO. But I need someone in the UK to ship it to, so I'm in the same boat. T.T

 

Don't Amazon UK mail worldwide? I'm in England and have ordered from Amazon US before.

 

Not for video games. I tried using my U.S. address and it refused to accept it. It will only take European addresses.

 

That sucks. I'm certain you order games from the US-UK, such a shame you can't do it the other way around. Are they worried about too many returns/refunds because of region locks?

 

You can order the game from Amazon.de and JB Hi-Fi. Both offer international shipping, so everyone in North America should be fine. I'm not sure about where else they ship to though.

 

Only note is that the German version includes German voice acting, likely exclusively.

 

Is this a first? My partner is in Germany at the moment and all I know is her Unleashed has the English voice-acting with German subs.

Looks like I'll be importing this from the UK, seeing how Amazon.co.uk ships for free to the Netherlands.
I could also wait and see if better deals pop up though.

 

It is. Apparently this is the first time Sonic's being dubbed in something other than English and Japanese. German is confirmed and I think it was mentioned Spanish is another language.

 

It's a first indeed! Generations is getting a Spanish, French, German and Italian dub in addition to the usual Japanese and English. IIRC though, you can actually choose between the dub you want.

 

Well props to Sonic Team and SEGA, they really are going all out in every single department. Localisation and all.

 

In S&SASR, at least the PC version, the commentary is available in various languages (including Italian, but I kept it in English because Italian is lame); likewise, Outrun 2006 (still the PC version) contains dubs in various languages.
Given those two precedents I doubt they're going to bother with removing audio files from a release, given that there's plenty of space on a DVD anyway.

 

Didn't Secret Rings have a German dub? I never played it myself so I can't confirm, but I remember hearing about it and it wouldn't be without precedent (games get dubbed in German all the time.)

 

I'm pretty sure that that was rumoured quite early on, but it was actually just the title that was being localised.

I think they can deliver to the U.S. maybe not certain locations.

 

As has been said many times, they will not ship the Generations CE to the US. I think it might be a policy they have on the sale of all games, or it night just be because of the weight and size of this particular one.

Thanks to both of you. I've added the romanizations; not sure if I should put the meanings up (I haven't done that for Sega Retro and it hasn't been a problem here AFAIK :/ ). Perhaps someone else should decide (maybe when the page is open to editing in the future).

 

So, both Game UK and Gamestation dropped again the PC version from their search results
