I've related this story several times before, but Sonic Spinball was the first Sonic game I played; I didn't have a Genesis (or any video game console, for that matter) at home, so I always played it at my aunt and uncle's house -- it was the only Sonic game my uncle had, and back then it was the only one I knew the existence of (until I found a Sega catalog in one of the game cases and discovered the existence of Sonic CD). After he traded the Genesis for a PlayStation, I wouldn't get to play another Sonic game until Sonic Advance.

My first Sonic game was Sonic 2 and I'll never forget how incredibly fun it was. When I was about 4/5 yrs old, I kept begging my older brother to let me play, and he finally let me play as Tails while he played as Sonic. It is one of my most memorable experiences of my life.

I wish I could remember that far back, but I wasn't born when we got the genesis, though I would guess it would have been Sonic 1 or 2 because I doubt my parents would have bought my brother Sonic 3 until it got cheap. The earliest thing I remember about the games themselves is freaking out in the second act of Hydrocity Zone because the wall started moving.

When I was 6, my dad bought me a Sega Genesis (Model 2), and it came with Sonic 2. I remember playing it, and getting stuck at Oil Ocean, every playthrough.

Sonic CD, 1994. I played it with my cousin who hogged the controller.

Oh god, my first...

It was either Sonic Heroes or Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. All I know is that either game got me hooked on the series. :P

First game I played was Sonic 1 on my neighbour's Mega Drive, can't remember how old I was but I was hooked. Demanded that my Mum was going to buy me a Sonic.

That was when I got Sonic CD... so much memories! Thus begun my Sonic The Hedgehog Obsession.

Sadly yes! Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive when I was like eight.
I could never get past that bit with the spikes and moving hills in Green Hill Zone Act 2. Fail!

Sonic 2 at my cousin's house was my first Sonic experience, my mom bought for me the Game Gear games though which I didn't really care for. The first Sonic game I willfully bought was Sonic Adventure 2, however. I guess you could say I spawned from the same camp as the Shadow-loving furry drones, but after I bought Mega Collection I came to realise just how much higher quality the older games were, I still love the Adventure games though.

first played: sonic 2 Genesis
first owned: Sonic 2 Game Gear

Grew up with Sonic on the Game gear and didn't get the genesis until after its generation was already over, but before getting a Game Cube and SA2B. The Dreamcast soon followed with SA1, I would then wind up getting SADX once it got released.

Latest sonic game I got was Sonic Chaos MS on Wii Ware

I first played Sonic 1 in my grandma's basement in early '92. That year I got my own Sega with Sonic 2 and I haven't quit playing since

My first Sonic game was Sonic 1 on the Mega Drive, in the summer of 1992 when I was 5 years old. It was the first game my parents got with the console and was the first 16 bit game I'd ever seen. Prior to getting the Mega Drive I used to play my parents' Atari 2600 a lot, which was the only console we had before the Mega Drive - so you can imagine how amazing Sonic looked to me, I'd never seen anything like it. At first, my mum was the one who used to play Sonic the most (I wasn't brave enough for some reason, probably because it was so different to what I'd played before), but once I started playing it a lot I couldn't stop.

I had Sonic 1, 2, and 3 as a kid, no Knuckles though, so I sort of assumed those were the only Sonic's, eventually I discovered Sonic 3D blast on the Saturn and Sonic and Knuckles, and, well, you can tell which one of those I was disappointed in.
