    I thought that I should put this on S2B to get their opinions & that

    This is Sonic 2 Epsilon, a project that I am currently doing along with 2 others who are working on palletes.
    Sonic 2 Epsilon has:
    New level layouts & palletes, layout done using SonED
    Zone name changes done with ESEII. That program will only be used for that!
    Lost levels restored, yes I did use that annoying ESE patch.
    Hitcounts changed using Sonic Tweaker

    THE ZONES: Please note that things can change such as palletes. Any new palletes you will be updated of them!
    GREEN GRASS ZONE
    Welcome to Westside Island. Unfortunately Dr Eggman has followed you & has sent out his coconut monkey bots, his fish bots & some very bad waspbots. At the end Eggman awaits you in his Egg Drill Car. 5 hits then you can tell him to get the hell out of here!

    FOREST ZONE
    A nice forest here. Still there's conveyor belts & robots around but what the heck. Eggman makes 2 totem poles rise & if he hits them with his installed hammer, an arrow comes out. HIT HIM HARD!

    SAND HILL ZONE
    In this hot desert, Eggman has placed his robots including his Crocbots so be careful. Like the Egg Drill Car? Have it riding around the sandy hills then!

    POWER STATION ZONE
    You've found Eggman's power plant. Tubes are everywhere, tiny robots that shoot balls, wasps that grab you & commit suicide (I mean explode) & Mega Mack, coloured liquid that can become nasty things once processed by the machines in this complex. The fat man has installed a small machine on his Eggmobile that quickly converts liquid to Mega Mack & dumping it on you. 5 hits then free the stupid animals!

    AQUA RUINS ZONE
    Old ruins of Roman times but now our egg-shaped foe has made this place his way. Arrows & badniks are around & don't stay long in the water without catching an Air Bubble. After 30 seconds in the water without air, a countdown appears. GET A FREAKING AIR BUBBLE OR GET OUT OF THE WATER OTHERWISE DIE!

    LAS CASINO ZONE
    Eggman built this casino so he can rest & have a good time! A few robots are here. Don't get 3 Eggmans in the slot machine othewise you lose 100 Rings!
    GREEN MOUNTAIN ZONE
    In the mountains, Sonic & Tails come across here. There's magma here as well as some bots.

    CAVE ZONE
    Our heroes come across a cave where Eggman is drilling for the Chaos Emeralds. Plenty of traps are here so hit the buttons, bash up the bots & go further down the cave to the...
    EMERALD CAVERN ZONE
    Further down the cave lies a colourful sparkling cavern. Dinobots & Batbots are ready to get you while there's breakable emeralds, tubes & mystery areas.

    Emerald Cavern Zone Video!
    EGG OIL ZONE
    Eggman's oil refinery is pumping out crude oil. Don't sink in it & watch out for the bots!
    METAL CITY ZONE
    Eggman's factory. Magma & robots with speed tubes & crushers, the usual Egg Factory.
    CYBER CITY ZONE
    Eggman's launched his Egg Fortress & you need to catch up! Quickly speed through this Zone & chase Eggman.
    AIR CHASE ZONE
    In the Tornado, chase the Egg Fortress & dodge his Concorde bots, turtles & helicopters.
    EGG ROCKET ZONE
    You are on board the ship, be careful of the rotors, the guns & THE SKY. It's the only way to get Eggman & get to the Death Egg 4!
    SPACE CORE ZONE
    After destroying the defence system on board Egg Fortress our egg-shaped foe reveals a space shuttle going to the Death Egg. Sonic or Tails clings onto it. The space shuttle has entered the core of the Death Egg 4. Watch out for Silver Sonic's arena. Defeat him to get to the Egg Mech. The future of this planet depends on YOU!

    Thumbs down for that damn repeating tree background in Forest Zone. Way to misuse a tile. And Death Egg Zone (excuse me, Space Core Zone) didn't need to be made any easier with the inclusion of rings and a shield. What were you thinking?

    Also, why did you replace the audio in those gameplay videos you linked to? In the Emerald Cavern video, by having the music fade out then start again, and then starting the boss music in the wrong place, you actually made it considerably worse than if you'd just left it alone.

    Sorry about this, I was unable to get access to the laptop yesterday so I couldn't check anything however I will answer your questions.

    Forest Zone Background
    I never done the background, the person who done the art for Wood Zone done it. Yes, it's boring but maybe a good pallete change might do it.

    Space Core Zone
    I'm reviewing the zone, basically the items & the hitcounts. I would like to keep the Rings however it won't be just me who will play it, the people who download it see if it's good or bad. For some reason I lost the space background, this also happened when I was using an unpatched version of it.

    Emerald Cavern Zone
    I'm using a HyperCam, as well as recording the music & sound effects it also records the clicking noise. I would like sound in the video so I was using the files from the Sonic Screen Saver. There's only about 2 minutes of the HPZ track then it ends. I wasn't finished so I put it back again after the 2nd time it was near the boss so I just put that track on. I know it's a bit stupid but would you like to hear clicking sounds with it or just plain silent.

    That pit will not let you die any more. Go down it & you'll recieve a good 1UP. I'll fix the waspbots' positions. There was also broken tiles & upside down fishbots. It's now no more & I'm currently thinking of something.

    Nineko & Puto: If you would prefer a different box to be there I will change it to something different, possibly a shield or a ring box..
    SMTP: I'll think of that for the next video.
    Covarr: That image you showed me is the start of Act 2. Act 1's endpost is at a similar place to where Act 2 is. I've only done some new layout for it however I'll put it on my to-do list. I've only done work on Green Grass, Space Core, Sand Hill, Forest & Emerald Cavern.

    This is a problem with this original (incomplete) Wood zone art. Sometimes, you are forced to align some of these wood tiles only for level coherency, and this looks very bad. The way to go is to place them as few as possible, following a vertical scheme, add custom art on them for more variety, and cover them with leaves when it's possible.

    Since the project will be slowing down in over a week's time due to my summer holidays ending meaning back to school, I am offering a taster of the hack's level layouts to test out. Not all levels have been completed yet but Space Core & Emerald Cavern are near finish, the Sand Hill boss is ready, hitcounts have been edited for original levels & level select & title cards have been done. If interested, PM me.

    well SOTI, after seeing that Space Core video, I suggest you to rename the level, maybe... Doomsday Project, but if it is too long try Secret Base. Can't wait to play that hack, looks really good stuff, and really promising.

    Doomsday Project is too long & I don't think Secret Base is a good name for Death Egg Zone. I might have Metropolis after Egg Rocket & call that Space Core with Cyber City after Egg Oil Zone.

    Double Post: Update time everyone!
    Yesterday I fixed the Death Egg background & Cyber City is now scrapped, it will now be known as Doomsday Mech & will come after Egg Rocket. Doomsday Mech is a 3 act zone, the third being the final boss, anyway image time!

    Nothing that concerns this place in the least.
    Not bad, not bad at all. Although is STILL reminds me of the hack I've started years ago (which is now discontinued.) But just to be clear, though, the top screenshots are of a modified Chemical Plant Zone, right?
