So the other day I was digging around my external drive for something, and I dug out this thing. It's... SA2 model ripping tools, from 2005. With sources. I didn't make these. I forget who made them. They were posted on CulT.

I remember using these back in 2005 to convert the racing models in SA2 into something more usable. I don't think it works on SA2B.

Hopefully, someone will find these tools useful.

Sanik was the one who made them, I think.

Yeah, Sanik made them. There's already a topic about ripping SA2 stuff that I posted these tools in earlier this year I think though.

Either way, Thank for uploading them,I was wondering how I would get the Dreamcast exclusive stuff.

now all I need to to is to figure out how to use the Free DLC with an emulator.

I almost want to make my own model program for SA2, except that the format seems a lot more complicated than SA1's.

There's an improved SA2 ripper out there, and it's been done by ... forgot his name. Dude most likely knows who I am thinking of.
It even does animations and skeletal ripping correctly from what I remember.

Are you referring to ExMDL.NET? That program's source comes with some pretty serious model libs. Anyone trying to make sa2 tools should definitely start there.

This is relevant to my interests

I'd really like an SADXLVL-type program. (Note that I have no idea how SA2 stores level layouts.)

On a related note, I find the total lack of an SCHG page for this game disturbing. Not even a note about editing SET files (which are the same format as SA1's).

Of course, this can probably be attributed to the lack of a PC port.

Same as SADC, it's a bunch of models and code compiled into a binary. If I was really, really motivated I could use this to locate the LANDTABLES in each binary (they exist, I've found them before) and get a filekey for them as well. I've done it before but I stopped documenting after I realized the model format was alot more intricate than the previous one.

That sounds familiar...but Google doesn't bring up any results. ExMDL.NET...I'm sure I've heard that before.

When abouts was it made?

Actually, I looked for it as well. I couldn't find it. If anyone has it would they be kind enough to upload it?

Well, I found it. Kryslin made the program, here's the link to the page to download it. http://kryslin.silvite.com/exmldnet.html
