Hey guys, it's been a while since we've done one of these, so we're going to try a Sega Retro scan drive! We've been working pretty hard on generating pages for each Sega game over at our sister site, Sega Retro, and have finally completed the library of SG-1000, SMS, Mega Drive and 32X games. As of earlier this month, we have about 100 Game Gear games left, 130 Mega CD, 600 Saturn, 350 Dreamcast games left to do, but most of those are obscure.
A big part of Sega Retro is getting quality scans of Sega items available for the public, and this is where we could totally use your help. Since we collect scans of covers and their discs or cartridges, we're asking you to look into your own personal collection and help us get scans of these two items.
New to scanning or Retro's archival standards for images? Check Sega Retro:Scanning!
However, unlike the old Sonic ones, we can't literally list everything we need (cause we need a LOT.) We need you to follow a three-step process to determine whether you can help us out.
1. Are you sure we don't already have a good scan? Check Category:Good Box Scans, Category:Good Cartridge Scans and Category:Good Disc Scans. Anything we have in there, we already have acquired. Check the region, then look for your game—images should be in alphabetical order for the most part.
2. Do we have a scan, but know that it's bad? Often we have scans, but may only have one side, have small images or have a tear or something otherwise not archival up instead of an archival scan. Check Category:Images to be Replaced, and if you find a scan you can replace, overwrite the image already scanned.
3. Do we have a scan at all? It's not uncommon, especially if you're in an odd region, that we may not have a cover, cart or disc scan at all! Check the individual game page by searching for it—use the search box on the top-right part of the page. If you have something we don't have at all, it's even more exciting!
By helping us out, we can SCAN ALL THE THINGS!!! Thanks, guys.
