If this is the real deal, what if the physics are odd looking because Sonic Team was still ironing out the engine?

As many others have pointed out, the entire thing looks slapped together in GameMaker. (Or I guess MMF is the popular solution around the Sonic community :P)
If you look at it critically these results could be achieved through writing a few movement methods in about five minutes. The roll is probably nothing more than a sprite swap with forward movement, intended only to *look* like Sonic's rolling
The movement is very robotic and unnatural, unlike anything we've seen from the series. Yes, its hard to say for sure its not Sonic Team working the kinks out of the engine, but the fact is SEGA's Mickey Mouse and Mario killer wouldn't look so robotic at any stage in development, especially when there are interviews stating the earlier builds of the game had to be slowed down, and that they knew the game had to be built on momentum and speed, ontop of being perfectly polished for release.
Its so fake it hurts

Hey guys, I'm getting alot of Im's and E-mail's about this video,
Alot of them asking if I made the demo or video,
Just to clear things up.... I did not make the video or demo.
I wouldn't have the time to make such a video or demo as all my time goes to working, home renovations and project AXSX,
I origonally wanted to post this, so that it could be dissected and ripped apart, as I know many of you have a very keen eye,
I'm just as curious to find out if it is real or not.
seems many of the observations are pointing to........ being a fake.....

This isn't Pachuka's Sonic 1 Beta hack from years ago?

Video # 2 has been uploaded. Once again, This person still isn't showing us any proof that this is real.
Refusal to show any proof that it's real is a bigger flag of a fake than any sprite errors combined.
On a side note: goddamn, those trees look trippy when scrolling on the TV from that angle.

Well fuck. This guy stole my idea that I had yesterday >:C
This seems VERY interesting though. Would like to see a rom if it does exist. BUT it DOES seem like a fan game. But we need to wait for Yuji Naka to say something before we jump onto conclusions though.

Figured that since were waiting on our hands for this guy to either blow our minds at an amazing discovery or go "hahaha lawl gots you f00ls!" we can talk something Sonic 1 Beta related:
Anyone see this commercial before? I ran across it recently and thought it was interesting.

Yeah, it's in the Wiki. It translates to:
Quote
Mega Drive by Sega.
Infernal Machine.
Stereo sound.
Incredible colors!
16-bit micro-processor.
Mega Drive by Sega.
Now also with two controllers and 4 spectacular games, including Sonic!
Sega, it's stronger than you.
Mega Drive, the 16-bit console with most worldwide sales.

Ah, neat. Still cool to learn about these things even after the fact, like I never knew that the wrecking ball was supposed to be red with a rotating star at one point. And that spring, I'm guessing at one point they were making different kinds of springs based on how far the player was going to be pushed.
It'd be neat to see those re-created in later hacks or something.

I seem to recall someone saying those were added to the commercial in post-production, and aren't actually in the game.

I know we did interview Naka a few years back, but is he really so tight with us now that we can just shoot him off an email about any old thing we find? Seriously?
I just didn't realize we kept in touch with some of the members that closely.
