Seriously. Its nothing but one big Sega fangasm. Admittedly its a boring anime (at least to me) but I enjoy it for the random Sega love that pops up every other seen. Sonic and Fantasy Zone boxart posters all over the place. Tons upon tons of Virtua Fighter love. There's even subtle stuff like character clothing based on Sonic bumpers and such. I'd post examples, but I'm finals cramming right now and needed a quick break. :P
