I'm guessing it's the German equivalent to Zig and Zag. Except with humans.

I don't want to be demoralizing... but it looks that, is just a "cheesy" commercial... similar to the "infamous" "Zelda Rap" commercial https://www.youtube....=uI3rO3PbYOo... no offense... i just wanted to help...

They appear in a few German adverts, and on a badge for a train.

Also more bonus points if someone can find me this power supply:

https://retrocdn.net...027.pdf&page=28

It's the 99F one in the top right - the one shaped like a Game Gear. "You're going to spend a lot of time with power supplies for this portable console - make sure yours looks nice".

It was advertised quite a bit in 1992/1993 which suggests it was probably manufactured, but I've never seen one online.

You might be right... i can't find any information... the only thing i discovered is that this commercials were not well accepted by german public... in almost every comment made in the youtube videos and some german forums, people see these two guys like a rip-off of Wayne and Garth (from Waynes World movie)... In this ad, the girl calls one of the guys by his name (it's imperceptable) https://www.youtube....h?v=CLb4XY1AYcE .

I know someone from Thailand - I've sent a query but I may not get an answer for a few days.

Documentation just got slightly more difficult:

http://segabits.com/...ories-revealed/

Officially licensed bluetooth controllers are one thing, but AC adaptors and video cables? That could get confusing.

I can't match Andlabs' old scan tracker, but I can create guidelines

https://segaretro.or...o/Missing_scans

(fiddle with the query for more)

this is a list of missing PC box scans. We'd quite like these lists to get shorter.

Obviously super high quality scans are the most desirable, but low quality placeholders are totally acceptable as a first step. Essentially it's a case of trawling eBays (cough) and cropping photos of boxes that aren't represented. Like I've done almost daily for nearly 8 years.

As an example of when this has been put into practise - Alien: Isolation is full of placeholders. The benefit of doing this is when someone does come along with a good scan, they don't have to worry about files names or categories or even editing pages - it creates a much lower barrier for entry (which is good, because Mediawiki is infamously daunting to new users).

Speaking of which, the wiki is telling me we're missing 3,988 box scans. There will be many more versions that have yet to be discovered (I'm looking at you, Benelux).

it is a good task for people who claim not to have scanners and claim to know nothing about a topic :eng101:

One of the recurring questions we get asked is "does this need scanning?" The response tends to be "yes" because of course the answer is yes have you seen how many things there are out there jesus christ

anyway, for your delectation, "Scandinavia":

Posted Image

On the left, the UK edition of Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing for the Wii. RVL-R3RP-UKV.

On the right, the Scandinavian version (Nintendo includes Finland in this group). RVL-R3RP-SCN.

Nintendo are surprisingly nice because they colour-code everything but these types of minor differences exist on Xbox and PlayStation platforms too. Where the only thing separating the variants are a few letters and numbers.

If you buy things from online retailers such as Amazon, UK residents sometimes receive Scandanavian stock, because only nutjobs such as myself can spot the difference*. The disc contents are the same and nobody prints manuals anymore, so it's not much of a problem. Likewise, if you live in the US, chances are you'll occasionally see Canadian versions (although the trick there is by law, there needs to be a French translation too).

We've barely documented any Scandanavian covers on our wikis because minor details like these make them hard to detect (this is the first "scan" I've found that's good enough to compare). The front covers are usually identical too - it's tons of fun.

*other options include pan-European versions, and the joyous "English but not UK" versions which I can only assume end up in Ireland.

Very true, I have one or two Scandy items in my own collection - however I believe neither of them fall under Sega Retro's purview.
