Gameplay latency experience is exactly what a player doesn't want from a Sega Mega Drive. What a waste this thing is. I wonder how the hell someone provides such a shit like this. At least the sound seems accurate in comparison to the Tectoy's release. Still crap and utterly loud, but the next possible from the PC emulators as it seems.

I don't get why they keep padding out the library with shitty mobile knock-off games. They're already putting Master System and Game Gear games on there, why not just keep adding more until they hit 85? There were like 12 Sonic games alone for those systems. Or what about the Streets of Rage trilogy?

I'd actually consider buying one of these if they managed to get 32x emulation working for it and added some of those games, seeing as they've never been re-released outside of GameTap (which has been defunct for eight years). The NES Classic shows how much of a demand there is for something like this done well, but it seems Sega's content to let their old consoles become fodder for the discount shelves at Target.

If y'all don't mind mono audio, there's a fantastic little Chinese GOAC that does HDMI, and seems to have much higher compatibility than the AtGames clone.

Even supports Master System games.

Gotta supply your own cart though. :v:

I was just about to suggest this myself - I came across this thing the other day, and then this morning discovered there's a Mega Drive 2 flavour as well.

Though I'm firmly in the camp that says composite is the way to go, and for that there are many better alternatives (not least a real system).

If there's one thing I've realised after making a Youtube video about Sega Forever's failures, there's a whole lot of overly-vocal younger Sega fans that'll accept any old rubbish.

Some of them might fear that they'll stop receiving free games, otherwise.

As someone who grew up with the ATGames 80-in-1 console due to budget restraints I know that - at least compared to PC emulators - the sound quality is complete arse but the frame-rate seemed normal.

As far as the reviews go for this one the exact opposite seems to be the case. They've improved audio emulation but somehow fucked up muh frames making the audio emulation improvements overall pointless if its constantly stuttering like an acapella artist has a speech impediment.

Got the original for £20, not even going to remotely consider paying 4x that amount for a slightly better console.

So, it's out now...

I have a question about it.

Do flashcarts work on it? That's what will make or break it for me.

Bday coming up soon, so considering asking for one of these.

Edit: Clarification, everdrives.

If you already have an Everdrive, why not just get original hardware? With knockoff emulation hardware AND a flashcart, you'd be better off just getting a RaspPi retro console set up.

I don't have an everdrive yet, I'm just looking at one and the Flashback because my birthday is in 3 days and eBay doesn't have the fastest shipping, plus the Flashback can run game cartridges from any region.

Nonetheless I'm going to take your advice into consideration, so thanks for letting me know.

Edit with stuff I forgot to add: I was also looking at the Flashback because it has multiplayer games such as Mortal Kombat II and III, games I haven't played in years such as Sonic Chaos and Triple Trouble and because I have no idea is that "Super Retro 3 in 1" is complete garbage or not.

I'd recommend not rushing things just because of your birthday. Be smart and prudent with your money.

And don't find yourself regretting buying a dodgy machine.
