I haven't been doing much Gens/GS II stuff due to classwork, but here's a list of things I'm going to try to do sometime soon:
- Implement native DirectSound and ALSA audio support. PortAudio has too much latency, resulting in ~50 fps on Linux and ~20 fps on Windows.
- Add support for a "no-emulation" build on non-i386 architectures. This will allow the Gens/GS II framework to be tested on PowerPC and x86-64, even though the emulation cores won't be usable.
- Finish ZOMG 0.8. Stuff remaining includes EEPROM and VDP internal registers.
- Add GLSL support for some effects. Some older video cards seem to support GLSL 1.00 but not GL_ARB_fragment_program for whatever reason.
- Clean up the menus and add configuration options.
- Add an initial MDP 1.0 implementation. Specifically, I want to implement enough such that RChan works. Support for rendering plugins will be added later.
