I can also confirm that the bug is still present in both Sonic 1 and 2. Although I haven't seen it crop up on the Steam release of Sonic CD yet.

Emulating them is totally out of the question, I've tried syncing my phone with bluestacks and running the game, I've tried side loading the .apk file into bluestacks and keep getting crashes.


Apparently you can, but it seems to be Android x86 only. I don't know if any of the Sonic remasters accommodate x86 alongside ARM; a couple Reddit posts suggest they run okay.

So here's a fun little bug:



At about 51:30, I did a little moon jump. I think it had something to do with the way I fell into the water, which wouldn't have happened that way in the original engine.

Perhaps if you looked back a page, you'd see that's precisely the bug people are talking about. :v:

Ah, my apologies. I actually do read everything in this topic, but the impetus for that conversation was more than a month ago, haha. Plus, the fact that it happened right after I rebounded from a hit in a way that wouldn't have happened in the original game made me think that was what caused it, and so the glitch may be rarer than it actually is.

Was there a reason for debug mode remove and some of the other stuff remove in the later version?

Tails and Knuckles' route from Act 3 of Marble Zone mapped by me after fighting with Google in an attempt to find someone who had already mapped it. Seriously, it's been 4 years and this took me only a couple of hours. :specialed:

Yes. Spring Yard zone act 2 has a third exit high-up which you can access right near the end of the act. It contains an extra life box and some rings.

Star Light zone act 1 also has an extra route high-up near the start of the act, but it's only a small area.

Am I going nuts or was there a Tails/Knuckles route in Labyrinth too or am I getting confused with the OG secret route in Act 1?

Yeah the secret short-route in act 1 was in the original version of Sonic 1.

There is no new content for Labyrinth zone in the remaster.

So I got a Samsung Galaxy S5, downloaded the free version of Sonic 1 last night, and just purchased the ad free version. When it was filled with ads, the game ran fine. As soon as I purchased the ad removal, I'm unable to start a new game without the entire app crashing. What could be causing this problem?

Edit

Just installed Sonic 1 to an older Android phone and I can't leave the save select screen without it crashing on that phone too. :/
