Does anyone know WHY the "Ashura" glitch in Sonic 2 occurs? I think it may have something to with the fact that the waterfalls in EHZ are blue, but I'm probably wrong.

hmmm, after playing that savestate you sent me (thanks again! :D) I noticed that ashura seems to have part of the backgrounds pallete, for example when you stand at certain parts of the map the colours line up and ashura has the EXACT same colour as the hills behind him. Perhaps all the waterfalls make the game think sonic isn't there and his pallete gets converted to the backgrounds? (also note the black parts of him turn to the blue of the sky/ocean).

Darn it, I know SOMEONE explained it before... it has something to do with all of the waterfalls you place down cause some type of memory overflow that overwrites part of the game palette or something.

You can vaugley see blue behind "Super Ashura" and his lives icon.

yeah, the only problem about ashura is the blue outline he has (although I think the blue eyes look uber cool, especially when hes 'super ashura')

I had a problem doing the actual glitch myself. In Debug on the Invicible object in emrald hill, don't put a bunch of them in one spot, spred them over the screen, In one area.
