The eternal optimist in me thinks, "Yay, they're gonna announce the anniversary game!" The realist knows that makes no sense.
Considering how close that is to one of our speculated dates (March 21st), and the fact that both Iizuka and Naka are there...for a 45 minute panel in America...well, certainly this might be preempting something, right? I wonder if they're going to do that there, then have something else happen on the 21st to make their trip worthwhile. It's Naka being along for the ride that makes me less sure. Obviously he's shown up to recent Sonic events, but if there's an announcement as part of this trip it's weird that he's there. Should be interesting to see what transpires, at least.
Naka and Iizuka should totally fist fight. Whoever wins decides what the future of Sonic is. Taking all bets.
A tad disappointed the other Sonic's co-creators Ohshima and Yasuhara aren't attending, but hey. We'll still get something interesting at least.
Would've loved to bring in some of the other creators, too. Pretty excited that we'll have Naka-san there, personally!
Don't quote me just yet on a livestream, but it sounds like there might be one provided by SXSW! Once I know for sure, I'll pass on the word.
According to Polygon it will be live streamed by SXSW. They seem to be getting the info from the press release so looks like it's confirmed.
I'm definitely going, and bringing my original Genesis to be signed by Yuji Naka. Even if there's a sliver of a chance, I can't miss this opportunity. edit: Just booked a megabus to and from austin for that day. I'll be there!
Given Anime Japan also starts a week later... We're probably not going to get an Anniversary anime, but a man can dream....
I was already going to be at SXSW because my band is playing that same day. The times don't conflict so I'll be there. I'm excited. :v:
All will be answered. Though, stopping the hype train, anime will not be made real. Hold steady, waifu boys.
