Spanish: Genial ahora quiero ver a Sonic en la Atari 5200. English: Great now I want to see Sonic on the Atari 5200.
I think this was posted earlier, either in the Supreme Topic of Other Knowledge or its own thread. Still, this is really cool.
I thought I seen this post here before... :v: Anyways it's pretty interesting to see Sonic running on a Atari 2600. I could only imagine how Sonic would run on a Super Nintendo... I know there was talk about Sonic running on the SNES here not too long ago, but from what I can recall not too many people here know much about the technical specs of the SNES...
The Atari 2600 is a surprisingly capable machine, given enough time and talent. In reality, it was only designed to handle ball-and-paddle games, but clever tricks were discovered that allowed for so much more. I'm always impressed when I see clever demakes like these.
Yeah, this was definitely posted before. Finding new things to discuss about it again isn't a bad thing, though! Weren't the number of rocks displayed in Asteroids also possible because of a hardware bug? I'm always impressed by what's possible on the Atari 2600. Arguably, this looks more playable than Sonic Robo Blast 1. *bricked*
Spanish: Que hagan una versión para Atari 5200 de este juego. English: Them to make a Atari 5200 version of this game.
Wow. This is very impressive. Considering the thing was made for Pong, I find it very genuinely amazing that all of the stuff on screen can be running in tandem with the music and sound effects. Props to the creator(s).
Saw a bit of this before - it's pretty awesome. Luckily I never had to grow up with this machine though, these pre-NES games have some pretty terrifying tones that instill feeling of fear in me. I don't much like them.
Its all relative to your exposure to the consoles when they were released, or at least the order in which you were introduced in. My first console was 2600 and I love the games, even those that I didn't see/play until this decade. Then I had a Mega Drive, and sure enough, I'd consider that most games age well visually and still regularly play them. For a contrast, I never had an 8-bit console like NES or SMS/Game Gear so I first played the 8-bit Sonics this century. It burns my eyes, I'm sorry. I cant understand and see the fun in Commodore/ ZX Spectrum and other similar devices. I grew with DOS Games but that is far from it.
I've always wanted to do something similar for the SC-3000 and sell it on cassette tape, maybe one day I'll get around to it.
