Introducing, your friend, and mine, Xeniczone! *Crickets chirping* *clears throat* Narrating his video: The Fisheye Guide! (Please don't worry about the pop in here... An outdated test model was used)
That demonstration shows exactly why the game looked the way it did, to increase the viewing area that plagued the 2D Sonic games for so long! Honestly, it was not until Unleashed that some form of fixing came in this area (viewing from an angle to see in front of you) But THIS game in 1995/96 was well before 3D tech was fully realized, so this was the best solution! Amazing ideas, those devos had...
If our cam gets bashed, I'll just cry out ,, Blame the original team... :specialed: However for me, it really does feel comfortable playing with Fisheye.
Forums are now open for anyone interested in Project AXSX. (A sonic Xtreme game) There may be a surprise waiting for some of you good boys and girls on Christmas day. (make sure to check Forum for surprise details) http://www.sonic-xtreme.com/ (screen removed) OOops wouldn't be a surprise now would it?
Hey SegaLoco! Not sure if it could be done since were using game maker for this Sonic Xtreme project. Its something that we can all look into, right? on the other hand Sonic CD remix will be done in C4 game engine, Its designed to be portable to PS3,Xbox 360 and Mac.
Candy Mountain, Charlie~ I'm excited for all of this and I wish you two luck. I'm actually anticipating playing both of these games; including CD Remix on a 360 port. Also I signed onto your forums.
PLEASE NOTE: Andrew and I have worked very hard the last week to attempt to get this game done by tomorrow, Dec 25, 2010, but unfortunately we have stumbled upon a very large frame per second glitch among other glitches that will make for a poor launch if released as is. The game was expected to be done today, but after adding the final touches we stumbled upon this glitch and decided to postpone the game because we were not going to work on it at through Christmas. We are deeply sorry to anyone who was expecting to have this game by tomorrow. We will work to have the game done before the end of the month.
I think we've pulled quite a few all nighters on this baby, it really starts to take a toll when its consecutive.
Our current goal is to recreate all of the Levels from Magazine scans and E3 videos including bosses. , than add all the DEF file levels as a later patch. at least thats the plan.
Hey Andrew and Xeniczone, good to see you're still working on this thing after all those years! Take it easy, it's been like 4 years in development? A few more days ain't going to hurt nobody
What about the levels that weren't shown in videos or magazine scans? Are you planning to make your own levels?
For you guys who missed our Christmas closed beta. Here's a few screens. (This is E3 Jade gully, using custom winter textures as well as a few level layout modifications.) (We didn't get a chance to really finish the demo up as we had hoped in time for the holidays, like the background implementation, or icicle transparencies for example)
