Man, I need to save more often. I was working on WZ and after finishing the 128 tiles, I went and did the level layout. Then I tried to put a single spring down, and SonED crashes. Argh. Wish it had an autosave option, cos now I've lost 10 or so 128 tiles and almost all my level layout. And I think I've lost a couple of 16 tiles as well.

So let this be a reminder to everyone...

    ALWAYS. SAVE. REGULARLY.

Yup. Back when I was working on my hack last year (which is on "haitus" and has been for awhile), I had 44 save files alone (some of which were identical copies used for backup purposes alone) involving the two acts of Emerald Hill zone alone (with some minor editing to both Chemical Plant and Hill Top). This was mainly to prevent errors from occuring in SonED, because I had gone through the same problems you are having now, so I know how it feels to lose information.

That's about how much I've lost just last night. This is the third time it's been a major annoyance.

You must either be extremely lucky or have a very precise mouse. All of the times it's crashed for me, except this time, are when I click on the very bottom of the tile editor. Which is easy to do considering how much stuff is crammed in there.

If some program on your computer actually stops your mouse moving on to that line, yes. :)

I think this also happens to the side lines. I will check when I get home.

Which tile editor? 16x16, 8x8, 128x128, the whole window, the pallette area?

I've tried clicking all the 'bottom lines' I can see, there's no crash for me. Also, did you not suppose that since I was asking for a screenshot, I wanted more specific information?

Damn, it doesn't show exactly where the mouse should be. Look at the blue tiles to see about where it locks up.

I hate that bug. It drives me mad, even when I do get some work done. I receive that bug all the time. Why does that happen?

I presume the program is converting from mouse coords to array offsets. It must have its bounding boxes one pixel off, thus the bottom line gives array offset 8 in an array that only goes 0-7 both ways. Very likely this will mean it accesses some data that it shouldn't be accessing and then crashes. One time I got that bug, instead of crashing, it replaced a certain tile in all the 128 tiles with another one and blanked out its solidity! LOL!
