How do you know emulationzone.org won't be renewed?

 

The site hasn't been updated in years.

Well, some of it is still on the internet archive. Most of the images seem to be missing. Damit, it's like the archiver mathematically determined the most useless pictures to back up. perhaps you could contact the former admin for the stuff you're missing?

 

Depends who renews it, IIRC.

 

To me, emulationzone been dead since Andy quit over Andre's stupidity and the death of SSRG.

 

I just spoke to Rlan yesterday. I could ask him if he has all the stuff backed up.

 

I hope VGAA is backed up... best source of Super Mario Bros. 3 art ever. :F

 

I hope he can get it back up too, since I remember a lot of Sonic crap that isn't on CulT that I actually thought that I should've copied all the content from the pages quickly before something happened. Guess that's too late now.

 

I used to love browsing that site

 

I'm sure it will be back, just needs the domain renewed.

 

Has Rlan ever thought of passing the torch and letting somebody reliable either update the site, or at least put it to use in some way other than just sitting there? (Yes, I know it has some quality info, but it would be nice to see updates.)

 

The problem is, where do you get new stuff to put in there? In the case of new games it's hard to find unused data, and in the case of old ones, they were already hacked completely, so it's almost impossible to find new stuff to put up there. Heck, not even the Dust Hill "interview" was large or interesting enough to be put up in SoST!

This appeared after SoST stopped updating so the stuff in the compendium isn't at SoST.

 

That's the second time I saw a link to that site in 5 minutes.


Incidentally, what's the story on the midi's Senn was supposed to release on his site? (I'm referring to the ones Drossin was talking about during the one interview.)

 

Do you mean Drossin's MIDIs? No, the deal was that Drossin (if he found the MIDIs) would give them to Senn who would give them to us (I was gonna see if I could take the news for the download for Retro). No idea what happened, last time I asked Senn didn't know either =P

They got the domain back, so it's back up.
