We're also all forgetting the most obvious of this stuff, is that these shots were posted on ONE place, and that's on an Ezboard. You'd think places like gamespot and IGN would jump on this immediately, right?

 

Actually no. They took quite a while to update about Sonic Chronicles, even though we knew about some in game shots well before they posted anything about it. It was however in Nintendo Power.

Also, it this was a hoax, it's a pretty legit one. The HUD was likely just pasted on (Remember we had no shots of Sonic 06 with the HUD ever)

If the hud was pasted onto a screenshot of the game without a hud, why are some of the effects such as blurs and added blue colouring overlapping the HUD?

 

Effects post-processing, maybe? It's easy to apply a blur effect after an image was already rendered, even if it isn't very smart.

Yes, that would be the general idea behind a good hoax.

 

I mean Dark Sonic said "The HUD was likely just pasted on" but if it was just pasted onto the screen then the effects would have been added later. I doubt Sega would add things on, they released videos and screenshots of games with no hud or incorrect hud, which makes it more likly to be a hoaxer than Sega.

 

Well it's not completely clear yet. May I remind that Sega can fake things on purpose, ie the HUD, for early screens.

 

It could be possible that they are mock-ups, (Must I bring up Dust Hill?) but it's most likely a hoax, especially since that monster looks straight out of a Final Fantasy/Phantasy Star game.

I can tell it's a hoax, because the moment I saw the screens I thought to myself DO WANT. Sega isn't capable of making sonic games that excite me anymore, so that settles that :P I'll be using these as wallpaper though.

LAWL I just had an idea: the first thing that I thought when I saw eggman in his robot was "oh, that is so cool and dark... huh, that reminds me of something Senn might have done". Now that I think about it, maybe this is the new Xtreme remake he's working on XD
