Sonic 1: NEW STUFZ

    Version 1.75 of Sonic 1 NEW STUFZ includes:

    - Act 1 of PPZ (SYZ) complete, but end glitches up
    - Act 1 of LZ complete
    - All of MZ complete
    - Press B at title screen to select Metal Sonic
    - Different level palettes for Sonic and Metal Sonic

    Well, I like the concept, but there are a few glitches/bugs I noticed.

    1. Sonic can't run up most of the hills in either Marble Zone act.
    2. Some areas are unacsessable without the already activated Debug. (I'm sure you're working on that, but just a heads up/reminder)
    3. Sonic dies as he's going the the end sign in Marble Zone Act 2. (The screen auto-scrolls up.
    4. Palmtree Panic/Spring Yard is very unplayable w/o Debug. Sonic goes into a weird stance and can't really do much.
    5. The objest are in the positions of Spring Yard, but I'm sure you're working on that.

    That's all I can think of right now... but I like the concept layout of Marble Zone.

    Palmtrees Panics collisions are worse than I thought. :P

    Its pretty good, but like Effexor said, some things could be fixed.

    Basically I was posting that...but yeah. The special stage also has sprite issues, but that doesn't matter really, but I loved the Sonic stance where he instantly is kissing the floor as he walks across a certain platform in Palmtree Panic. :P

    Very nice, I liked what you did for Marble ZOne, but it needs more work only. But, I need to ask why you didn?t used the news Metal Sonic sprites I made? It had all necessary animations for him.

    The title screen pallet switch doesn't seem to work for me. I'm not sure if this is an earlier build or not, but the water changes color (red to be exact) but the overall pallete stays green.

    NO! He was turning him sideways to measure the distance of the levels since Sonic is about three feet!

    Well, in the end I couldn't put them in using Sonik Sprite, even when I put the Metal Sonic Tempest of Time palette. So I had to use those.

    ...it's called copy and paste the art data over. Simple as you can get.

    I was given a sprite sheet, not a full ROM. So I need to actually import them with Sonik Sprite, which isn't working.

    Import the sprites with Tile Layer Pro. I know it?s harder... but because the animations/mappings are different from Sonic, SonikSprite is useless in this case.

    Agreed. Sonik Sprite will just cuas ean odd black sprite to appear, even if you screw one pallete over.

    I don't think it was anywhere near ready for a release.
     
  18. True. That Palmtree Panic wasn't great, Sws2b Hall of fame is too linear, and marble Zones foreground tiles, Well, I just don't like them.PPZ does show promise though, once collision, layout etc is sorted out.

    Looking for a Rom Hack to Test.
    My thoughts entirely, especially as I got stuck down many pits in his Marble Zone Act 2 which to me the tiles look very boring, but I think this is only a placeholder for some better graphics :) at least I hope so anyway.

    Im loving playing all these hacks and wishing I could make my own as good as these.
